The lessons below on playing by ear are in reverse order. That's the nature of this blog and I don't think I can change it. So if you want lesson one, scroll past the "Using ol' lefty" lesson. Future lessons will have the same problem.
The music weekend October 5 - 7 at Ashland Woods has come and gone and most of us are better for it. If you've never been to one of these "music weekends" (there have only been two), you need to get on board for the next one, the date as of yet undetermined.
Change! What is determined is a conference in Goshen, Indiana. But the date has been changed. It had been scheduled for Nov. 30 - Dec. 2 but Titus Chu has decided to use that same weekend to hold a young couples' conference. We are probably going to have the conference now in late January, probably Jan. 25 - 27. We still need to be sure that date works for all the parties involved.
The Goshen saints are very excited about this conference. We have a strong sensation the Lord is on the move, ready to move us forward after some tough times. Brothers Nigel Tomes, John Myer, and Vern Yoder will be speaking on the theme of "Who are we?"
Our great hope is that this conference will feature a music explosion. We want to try all kinds of interesting new ways to worship through song. We tried one or two ideas at the AW weekend, but we have just scratched the surface.
Make plans now to find a way to come and enliven the time with your talent. Contact Tom Neill or Mark Jordan for more info. More will be forthcoming here and through your local churches.
